Charente Poitou 7 days, 8 nights, date TBD

2100 - 2300 € all included (preliminary price indication)

On our way towards the old province of Poitou, we will stop at the château in Chenonceau, a jewel of the Renaissance and row under its arches on the Cher.

In Chatellerault, near Poitiers, we'll discover from our shells the beautiful river Vienne before reaching Cognac.

A visit to the Hennessy distillery and cellars is a must as is the rowing trip on the Charente that flows to the gallo-roman city of Saintes and to the royal arsenal of Rochefort.

We will then embark in the very old port of La Rochelle for an afternoon coastal rowing before crossing the Marais Poitevin, nicknamed the Green Venice.

Our next destinations will be Angers to row on the Maine and Le Mans for some a visit to the racing circuit and museum.

On our return journey to Le Perreux we will stop at Chartres. Its cathedral has the largest and best preserved collection of medieval stained glass windows in the world.
