The Club

The Société Nautique du Perreux (SNP) was founded in 1903 and has close to 300 members, equally divided between competition and leisure. Every year it ranks in the top 20 French clubs (out of 400), based on championship results. Our top female rower has been a medalist every year for the last four years at world level. Our top male competitor won the Boat Race in 2023 and 2024 rowing for Cambridge.

The club is located in Le Perreux on the river Marne, only 1 km from the RER station at Neuilly Plaisance on the high speed metropolitan network line that takes you to the centre of Paris in 20 min, to Eurodisney in 30 min and to Charles de Gaulle airport in 55 min.

The Row & Visit France Team

Jacques Levasseur (first on the left), Row & Visit France manager and tour guide

Jacques started rowing at the age of 13 at the SNP and has since competed in all age categories. In his 50's he expanded his practice towards long distance racing (Tour du Léman) and coastal rowing. After moving to Geneva for professional reasons, he co-founded and developed the Divonne rowing club. As a certified coach he introduced several hundred rowers to the sport and continued to coach them. More recently he started organising holidays for his fellow club members before proposing this service to the wider rowing world.

Corine La Rizza (second from the right), tour guide

In her youth Corine excelled in track and field events as well as in skiing. Taking up rowing as an adult, she quickly became an essential contributor to the club and successfully passed a coaching certificate. She has extensive experience in rowing tours in France and abroad. Her energy and her continuous good humor are unanimously appreciated by the groups she leads.

Joël Rivet (first from the right), tour guide

Joël's first sport was cycling. When switching to our sport he became a rowing nut. He is now vice-president of the SNP. His second (first?) passion is wine. A few years ago he made his dream come true by purchasing a vineyard with friends in the Loire Valley. He will be delighted to advise you on French wines and perhaps let you taste wine from his own vineyard.
